['The Book Review' gouache paints on water-colour paper 5"x7"]

We meet to discuss the Alchemist. i had not yet read it, so i collect a copy to read after. What i did though, was familiarize myself with the novel, through internet searches. Not having been to book club meeting for quite a few months, i am glad of my decision to attend when i get there, armed, with my dish of just cooked cornmeal coo coo with ochroes. So, when codes of: fantasy, Personal Legends, Urmin and Thummim, Soul of the World, Language of the World, Elixir of Life, omens, maktub; are tossed into the web of discussion, no way am i lost.

Carpe Diem #1045 departing spring

[Kristjaan who proposed this prompt for today explains - Jane brought something new to my haiku as I got to know her. She brought beauty and simplicity into my haiku ... she gave my haiku new life. New life is spring, but now ... with the passing away of Jane ... that new life starts to depart from my haiku. It feels like a lack of inspiration, a writer's block ... so departing spring is to me more than what it says]
